Waterloo Christian Reformed Church
Waterloo CRC belongs to the Christian Reformed Church in North America, which confesses the Three Forms of Unity of the Dutch Reformation: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort. The congregation describes itself as a fully welcoming community of people committed to share their life-long journey of following Jesus with all who come, meeting to worship on Sunday mornings and then dispersing to live the faith where they are planted.
Waterloo Christian Reformed Church meets on Bearinger Road in the north-west of the city, on a wooded lot near the Laurel Creek conservation land; the congregation calls itself the Church in the Woods. It is the only congregation in Waterloo belonging to one of the Dutch Reformed federations, and worship is on Sunday mornings at half past ten.
The Christian Reformed Church in North America was organized by Dutch immigrants in the nineteenth century and holds to the Three Forms of Unity. The denomination’s own directory lists the pulpit as vacant: the Reverend Victoria Verhulst Cok served the congregation from 2005 to 2025.
